Prize fund of the Second “Astana Piano Passion” contest of young pianinsts is announced to be $50,000
In May 2014 a capital of Kazakhstan will host a second international festival of classic music. "Astana Piano Passion" contest of young pianists organized by social fund "Accordi di Astana” with the support from Astana city administration will be part of it. An Honored artist of Russia, Denis Matsuev is the contest Art Director and an honored jury member.
The second international contest of young pianists "Astana Piano Passion" will consist of three stages: Elimination round, Second round and Contest final. The main purpose – support of young talents at the early stage of their carrier, international performing art experience sharing and strengthening of Kazakhstan piano school traditions.
The contest is open for young pianists under age of 18 from any country of the world. The total prize fund is 50,000 USD. Besides there will be special awards for contestants. In addition, pedagogues whose students win first prizes in junior (under 10-years-old), middle (11-14 years-old) and senior (15-18 years-old) groups will be awarded as well.
Contestants’ performances will be judged by recognized international jury members, whose names will be announced later. It will be worth mentioning that after the First international contest of young pianists, held in May 2013, musical critics provided positive feedback on the jury’s work and marked their objective judgment that was supported by virtually entire audience.
Participation in the contest does not require any entry fees. The organizing committee will incur all travel costs and Astana accommodation expenses of Second and Final rounds’ participants and their attendants.
